DJs Jianwen and Kemin from the local radio station. We always think the DJs speak so fluently because they have a script. These two proved me wrong! They were rattling away in front of us and the camera without any script!

We all met at the Bugis Trishaw Park (between the Fu Lu Shou Complex and Albert Court).
I was there right on time and there’s still day light and I got to take some photos of the trishaws.

This must be the only one that really stood out!

Most of the other trishaws are ‘plain jane’ trishaws.

The participants were either listener of the Radio Station or bloggers and one partner (like yours truly) invited by omy.
One of the listeners that went is this young lady in blue! It’s her birthday and she just turned 30! (ya ya, by the way, the guy beside her is her son hehe… Thou Shall Not Reveal A Lady’s Age)

By the time we set off, it was dark. There were like 30 trishaws I believe that were all going out together. We were lining up in twos!

This is the front view. It’s good that the trishaw I was in was in the middle. I could take photos of both front and back of the ‘trishaw pack’.

These two ladies sure are enjoying themselves. Look at the wide smile!

Oh.. this is the omy reporter and his cameraman’s trishaw.

The reporter was working hard! I am sure the trishaw man was breathless trying to paddle and speak at the same time!

But if you are this trishaw man in green. He’s one funny guy! He was literally the clown! He’s even posing while riding the trishaw! He was entertaining us and singing! These two ladies are from the Radio station.

The guy is Alvin from omy. The lady in red is a teacher. Got to know her that night. She’s a Chinese Language teacher! My Mandarin’s a mess! Oh, it was embarrassing!

The night’s ride was a special route. Our ride was on these roads: Rochor Road – Middle Road – Bras Basah Road – North Bridge Road – Queen Street.

Along the way, we saw ‘pasar malam’ (night market) stalls. They do sell many kinds of veggies eh?

We passed by shops selling all sorts of things. Flower garlands, fruits (bananas) etc…

Even goldsmith shops!

Our trishaw man pointed this to us. We were along Rowell Road and he said, this is where you see ‘transvestites’ and ‘ladies’. This is the ‘Little India version of Geylang’. They were all behind the gates.

It sure attracts lots of these foreign men who are far away from home.

Away from the ‘sins’ area, there’s the ‘sacred’ area. We passed by the Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple.

Now this car, the driver is an impatient and lawless driver. He was honking his way around!

There were Indian restaurants as well. I took this because I have a friend who’s name is Selvi. Going to show her this picture!

We passed by Chinese Night Clubs too! Well, it’s true that Bras Basah and Bugis area is really ‘alive’ at night.

Oh yes, this is the world famous Raffles Hotel.

The ride was pleasant and you sure see things very differently from a trishaw. It was truly an experience!
The ride ended just beside the Singapore Arts Musuem in the Bras Basah Precinct.

We ended the night at Settlers Cafe at the Singapore Management University (SMU).

This is Settler’s Cafe’s menu. How interesting eh?
