Trick-and-trick with Ben and Jerry’s
If you went to any Ben & Jerry’s outlets in Singapore last month, you would have seen posters like this one shown below. They were running a 2 Scoops 2 Scary contest. I did drop in a contest form. I was hoping I could win it.
Guess what? The PR folks from Ben & Jerry’s saw my blog post about it and they emailed me that I can follow them as an invited blogger! Yey!
The winners all met at Ben & Jerry’s at VivoCity at 5 pm. It was a huge crowd, I think this crowd itself attracted other crowds to stare at us. The winners was to come dressed in their favourite costumes, but ‘you know Singaporeans lah’, many came in what they usually wear. But the staff from Ben & Jerry’s did dressed up in all kinds of costumes!
Look at the staff at VivoCity. Are they suppose to be bats? The girl in the middle was good. She did not smile at all. (Most of them time she was so ‘stern’)
I had my first Ben & Jerry’s ice cream here.
This might be the only time she was smiling. It was probably because she was thinking of how to torture contestants. At every outlet, they had a game.
We took a short walk to Seah Im across the road. This is where we boarded two Ben & Jerry buses.
Look a black bunny and adults dressed up as a school boy!
Our next stop was the Raffles City B&J outlet. On our way there, it started raining. It was raining so heavily, our moods was literally dampened! When we got to Raffles City, we were stucked in the bus. The roads were a little flooded too.
But thanks to the quick thinking of the two bus drivers, can you guess what they did? They parked the buses side by side and the next bus opened their luggage door. We on this bus then walked out from our the front door into the luggage door! From there we walked out the other bus’ front door.
By doing this we avoided the flooded part of the road and was sheltered all the way in!
Here’s the Raffles City outlet. I wonder how long they have not clean this place! It’s filled with lots of cobwebs!
The staff at this outlet were dressed up as hungry blood thirsty brides!
On of the brides… Hmm…..
At every outlet they played games. This was a contestant trying to grab as many apples out of a bowl in the shortest time.
This is a group photo of the staff at Raffles City.
Our next stop was B&J at Dempsey. Oh look! Like a kampung shed with rain coming down the zinc like roof.
Inside we were greeted by smiley staff like this guy! Any smile will warm up cold and hungry people!
The quick ‘dinner’ we had. It was more like a quick ‘snack’. Here’s some drummets. Not my favourite food, but the younger winners were seen gobbling up the food.
We also had some bruschetta with different fillings and toppings, and also mini pastries.
Never mind the dinner it seems. Everyone was more interested in the ice cream. We all got this voucher to redeem a free Flower Bowl Sundae.
I had the princess instead of the witch prepare my ice cream.
If I had wanted some potion, I would have asked the witch. LOL
My Flower Bowl. Tempted? I love B&J ice cream.
Next stop was to B&J at The Cathay. It took us the longest time to reach here. There was the first the Orchard Jam and then the Plaza Singapura jam.
The outlet at The Cathay. No cobwebs here though. LOL.
The game they played at this outlet was cover the mummy game. Using toilet rolls to cover and up cover it up at the fastest time and completely covered too.
The winners! If you look, they are not posing for me. LOL.
They are posing for the camera that you see at the bottom of the photo.
Time passes very quickly! We were quickly asked to leave and go to the next outlet.
Here we are at the B&J Great World City outlet.
More games playing. What are these people trying to look at?
The evil scientist! Mua ha ha….
The game was to look for letters around the outlet and form words.
The winners laugh and the losers cry….
Oh man, I mean woman, she was crying out blood as tears!
We all can’t wait to leave because the next stop was Night Safari! It was a long ride to Mandai and we were glad to have Jack and Rai entertain us.
I was in the second bus and it happened that Jack and Rai was in the same bus. They are quite entertaining and good! You can visit their website at jackandrai.com
We finally arrived at Night Safari.
Our tag for the 10.30pm ride.
It was still early, so this guy was tasked to torture / entertain us.
The task was to blow balloons till they burst!
After everyone burst their balloons, we could get down the bus! It was drizzling, but everyone still wanted to see the Flavor Graveyard.
(OK, we felt so silly. It was a graveyard, why did we rush to see it? It was just this!)
We got to the B&J’s Night Safari outlet!
You could see some girls who dressed up.
Oooo.. The cashier at Night Safari doesn’t look too friendly!
We were then led by the train ride. When we got seated, this guy served us. We had bloody red juice and desserts on board the ride.
This is how it looks in the terror ride.
I kept my camera after this. Animals don’t like flash and we don’t want them to jump into our train. LOL
We did have a good time at the Night Safari.
Thanks to the Ben and Jerry’s PR folks who made it possible for me to join in the fun with the winners. They have new flavours. You should go try them. ;-p
Thanks to you too for reading all the way here for this super long post!
